Clinical Psychology

The programme provides the student with understanding and experience of the research methods and techniques appropriate for applied settings. There is a taught component with a focus on the specialist skills and methods required to conduct and evaluate psychological research in clinical settings. There are also 2 research placements and a final research project which are all supervised by staff affiliated to the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology programme or working in clinical areas.

Entry requirements

2.1 Honours degree in psychology; candidates with other qualifications are considered on an individual basis; English language requirements apply to candidates whose 1st language is not English.

Course modules

Core modules: psychological issues in clinical settings 1; psychological issues in clinical settings 2; transferable skills; foundation/psychological issues.
Optional moduels: choose 1 from: principles of applied psychology, computer use, or design and analysis 1 (basic statistics).

Scholarships may be available. International students can often gain funding through overseas research scholarships, Commonwealth scholarships or their home government.
