Sport Policy, Business and Management

This programme seeks to prepare students for work in the leisure industry, sports agencies and local authorities by developing high quality graduates in a research active environment. It is expected that students taking the programme will develop the skills to allow them to critically evaluate new developments and theory and integrate this knowledge where appropriate into their professional practice. Students will learn through innovative blended delivery using both high quality online resources complemented with face to face discussion time with leaders in the programme fields. They will be encouraged to develop their use of theory in practice. Students will be required to attend 3 to 4 compulsory block teaching weeks during September, December and March.

Entry requirements

At least a 2.1 or equivalent in a relevant science subject

Course modules

Research methods in sport; professional practice in sport; professional case study; sport policy and management; dissertation (after successful transfer to MSc).

Scholarships may be available. International students can often gain funding through overseas research scholarships, Commonwealth scholarships or their home government.
