Leadership and Management for Social Care
This programme provides critically aware and research-based knowledge relating to the crucial areas of leadership and management practice for social care.
An Honours degree or equivalent evidence of ability to study at postgraduate level; a management or other leadership role in a social care setting.
There are 6 modules, comprising of 1 mandatory module and 3 other core modules and a choice of 2 modules from a possible 5 including a mandatory module; managing diversity. Core modules: Managing diversity; developing organisations and organisational change; leading for quality assurance - supervision skills for performance management; creating and maintaining partnerships. Optional modules: Reflective practice for managers; coaching and mentoring for managers; leading for learning - leadership skills for management and learning in diverse settings; leading learning for effective safeguarding; researching professional practice.
Academic assessment is comprised of a written assingment per module (3000 words). This assignment specifically requires candidates to connect knowledge, values and critical analysis to their experience sof leading and managing in the workplace.
