Accountancy (advanced standing)

This programme is an advanced qualification for professionals wishing to pursue financially-oriented careers in UK public and private sector businesses or international organisations. You will gain comprehensive knowledge and skills in the application of concepts, techniques, methods and approaches in accounting and financial analysis. You will have the confidence and leadership, and other transferable skills, to help businesses develop and prosper.

Entry requirements

Fully qualified accountants who hold membership of a professional body linked with the The Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies (CCAB); applicants may be invited for interview; those who have not studied previous qualifications in English require an academic IELTS score of at least 6.5.

Course modules

Modules include: Research methods and study skills for accounting and finance (20 credits); research methods (20 credits); research-based dissertation (40 credits).

Assessment methods

Work is assessed by a combination of coursework and examinations; typical coursework assessments may include essays, case studies and individual or group projects; students also undertake a major piece of independent research.
