Bolton Business School's LLM Law degree enables both law graduates and non-law graduates to pursue advanced legal study and gain sought after postgraduate legal skills in a challenging yet supportive environment. You will have the opportunity to choose from a wide range of modules and focus your studies on areas of personal and professional interest. We offer knowledge and expertise in areas including medical law, EU and international law, employment law, corporate and financial law, and brand and marketing law. You will be able to customise your learning experience and learn to critically analyse and understand the complexities arising in the specialist fields you have chosen. You will learn to take a critical legal approach and look at issues from both comparative and contextual perspectives. You will also gain an impressive array of transferable skills that are in high demand in the international employment market.

Entry requirements

You should have at least a lower second class honours degree (2:2) in any subject (or a comparable qualification from a UK or overseas institution); applications from candidates offering other qualifications or appropriate experience are also welcomed and will be considered on a case by case basis; If English is not your first language you will also normally need IELTS 6.5 (or equivalent). If you do not have the required English level, you can study English with us from IELTS 4.0 (or equivalent).

Course modules

Core modules: research methods; dissertation. Choose four from the following list of option modules: international business law; aspects of medical jurisprudence; corporate insolvency; financial and economic crime; law of international trade; medical ethics, reproduction and the law; medical negligence; public international law; banking law; collective labour law; corporate governance; employment tribunal practice ; equality law; EU labour law EU public law; globalisation, brands and marketing strategy; individual employment law; trade mark law and policy.
