Advanced Composite Design

The aim of this programme is to address urgently-needed solutions to industrial problems in the area of advanced materials. It has been developed in conjunction with industry and the University of Manchester as part of the Codate project, and can be delivered by new flexible modes that include block release and e-delivery.

Entry requirements

Lower 2nd Class Honours degree, or an appropriate professional qualification in industrial design, product design, computer-aided engineering, engineering, technology or a related subject; or alternative equivalent qualifications with extensive relevant work experience; applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.5 (or equivalent).

Course modules

Modules include: Introduction to composites; design of advanced composites; manufacture and fabrication; research methods; academic dissertation; plus options: advanced design of composites; design for replacement or repair; design for life cycle management.
