Strength and Conditioning

The degree offers a coherent balance between academic knowledge (for evidence-based practice) and professional vocational skills.

Entry requirements

An Upper 2nd Class Honours degree (2.1) in a related field (for instance, sports and exercise science, coaching, physiology) and relevant vocational experience; for applicants who have not studied their previous qualifications in English a TOEFL score of at least 575 (written) / 230 (computer-based) / 89 (internet-based test) or an academic IELTS score of at least 6.5 is required.

Course modules

Modules include: Biomechanics for strength and conditioning (15 credits); physiology for strength and conditioning (15 credits); nutrition issues for strength and conditioning (15 credits); applied training techniques (15 credits); strength and conditioning in special populations (15 credits); coaching and leadership skills (15 credits); planning and programming (15 credits); research methods and statistics (15 credits); Master's project (60 credits).
