Health and Well-Being Specialisms

The programme welcomes expressions of interest in postgraduate research degrees in areas of study related to health and well-being; applicants undertake research, evaluation and needs assessment into service user involvement, participation and innovation, hard to reach groups and service improvement, drawing from areas such as sociology, social policy, leisure studies, nursing, physiotherapy, public health and many more.

Entry requirements

For the MPhil applicants should have at least a lower 2nd Class Honours degree in a relevant subject; for the PhD applicants should also have an MA/MSc or other postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject; applicants with alternative qualifications that demonstrate the appropriate knowledge and skills to begin doctorate-level study may apply; applicants with only an Honours degree initially register as an MPhil student; all applicants are interviewed; applicants whose 1st language is not English require a recognised English language qualification at the appropriate level for this course, i.e. IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
