Digital Filmmaking

This programme engages students in the production of advanced film productions. Students study modules in the production of videography (shooting, editing, postproduction), together with specialist modules in film history. Students will also be taught theoretical and historical contextual analysis and creative processes such as visualization and storyboarding for you to acquire the tools of critical analysis and ideas-generation which will support you when producing practical projects. Throughout the programme, students produce films of varying length in a diverse range of media to be exhibited in an equally broad range of settings. Available facilities include broadcast standard (HD) and the latest industry editing software (Avid and Final Cut Pro). The School's technical facilities offer excellent support for production within the School.

Entry requirements

2.2 Honours degree (or above) in a relevant area from an approved degree-awarding body; candidates with a degree in an unrelated subject who have skills and experience in a relevant area will be considered on an individual basis.
English language requirements: IELTS at 6.0 or the equivalent.

Cinematic language; guerrilla filmmaking; media production planning; post production; visualization and storyboarding; screen realism; issues in digital media; MA project.
