Computing, Informatics and Media

The Informatics Research Institute (IRI) is the focus of the computing research in the School. The Institute�s research activity is organised into 4 interdisciplinary groups: artificial intelligence (AI); applied mathematics; digital imaging and visualisation; networks and performance engineering.

Entry requirements

Minimum academic qualifications required for entry are a higher degree from an approved university and a 1st or Upper 2nd-Class undergraduate degree. Exceptionally, applications from candidates with lower than the qualificationsabove, but with experience and training as suitable preparation, will be accepted. If English is not the 1st language; IELTS 6.0 with at least 5.5 in each of the 4 sub-tests (speaking, listening, reading, writing), or at least 87 in the internet-based TOEFL.
