University of Bradford
Advanced Practice (Psychological Therapies)
This module is designed for health or social care-professionals working with people with severe and enduring mental health difficulties that have so-called complex care needs. This module can help further develop your therapy skills with a focus on working with people with a diagnosis of psychosis and personality disorder. It draws upon a range of psychological therapies, including cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, schema therapy, mindfulness and principles of positive psychology.
Ideally this course requires familiarity and experience in the fundamentals of cognitive behavioural psychotherapy. Previous clinical experience of working in this way is essential and post-graduate training in CBT is required (e.g. PG Cert Cognitive Behavioural Therapy or equivalent to).
