Pharmaceutical Technology

The programme is designed to enable you to develop a comprehensive understanding and knowledge in the area of pharmaceutical formulation development and its underpinning science and processing technologies. Particularly notable features include theoretical and practical aspects of advanced analytical methods, Process Analytical Technology (PAT), and Quality by Design (QbD).

Entry requirements

A 2.2 Honours degree or equivalent or above in a relevant area such as biological sciences, chemistry, pharmacy, pharmacology or pharmaceutical sciences. IELTS at 6.0 or the equivalent.

Course modules

All years: fundamentals of pharmaceutical formulation development; science of solid dosage form and advanced pharmaceutical technologies; x-ray diffraction; separation science; vibrational spectroscopy; critical appraisal of current topics in pharmaceutical technology; process analytical technologies (PAT) and quality by design (QBD); computational pharmaceutics and knowledge management; research project.
