International Business and Management

The course is designed for students who wish to gain the knowledge and research skills that will help them to thrive in an increasingly dynamic global business environment. The course offers a number of students the opportunity to study abroad at a collaborative institutions overseas.

Entry requirements

A degree, not necessarily in business and management, from an approved university. Exceptional candidates without the usual academic qualifications but with appropriate professional qualifications may be admitted on their merit. There is no requirement for previous work experience. Minimum IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.

Course modules

Compulsory modules: business economics; accounting and finance; human resource management; international business environment; marketing; operations management; strategic management; European business management; cross-cultural management; international business in emerging economies; international business strategy.
Elective modules: applied intellectual property and environmental law; business ethics; consumer behaviour; contemporary issues in accounting and finance; corporate social responsibility; decision support for sustainability; diversity in works and organisations; entrepreneurship and innovation; environmental management and quality systems; financial statement analysis and valuation; information systems planning for sustainability; international finance; international school ; management of change; marketing communications; services marketing; strategic accounting; strategic financial management; strategic marketing; strategic marketing simulation; sustainable operations and management; technology and innovation management.

Assessment methods

Assessment is by a combination of written examinations, assignments, group projects and presentations.

World Bank low-income or low to middle income economy countries: £2,000 scholarship Academic Excellence scholarships: 15 scholarships of £1,000 available as a fee reduction to the highest achieving students with at least a first-class Honours in their undergraduate studies, or the European equivalent. Ma Kam Ming Scholarship Fund: The Ma Kam Ming Scholarship Fund supports up to 4 scholarships for full-time postgraduate study leading to the degree of MSc, at the School of Management, from permanent residents of Hong Kong or citizens of China in 2014/15. Postgraduate Bursary: UK or EU students applying to study a full-time Masters or research postgraduate programme, who have recently graduated from an undergraduate programme in England, and have received support towards their fees from the Local Authority or the Student Loans Company in their final year of undergraduate study at their previous university may be eligible for a Postgraduate Bursary of £500. Alumni discount: self funded or part-self funded Bradford alumni applying to study a full-time or part-time Master's programme, whether studied in Bradford or at one of our partner institutions, will qualify for a discount on the self-funded element of their fees.
