Sustainable Operations and Management
The course appeals to students wishing to develop a career in management with a strong interest in pursuing environmentally sustainable and socially responsible strategies. The course provides a detailed understanding of the context in which a modern business operates and the many interrelated factors that influence its operational environment.
Applicants must have a degree (not necessarily in business and management) from an approved university. Exceptional candidates without a 1st degree but with appropriate professional qualifications (e.g. ACCA) and work experience may be admitted on their merits. All non-UK applicants are required to provide proof of proficiency in English: IELTS: 6.5 overall, with no sub-test less than 5.5; or internet-based TOEFL: 94 overall, with minimum scores of Listening 17, Reading 18, Speaking 20, Writing 17); or PTE-A (Pearson Test of English-Academic): 60 overall, with no sub-test less than 51.
Compulsory modules: business economics; accounting and finance; human resource management; international business environment; marketing; operations management; strategic management; sustainable operations; environmental management and quality systems. Elective modules: applied intellectual property and environmental law; business ethics; consumer behaviour; contemporary issues in accounting and finance; corporate social responsibility; cross-cultural management; decision support for sustainability; diversity in work and organisations; entrepreneurship and innovation; European business management; financial statement analysis and valuation; information systems planning for sustainability; international business in emerging economies; international business strategy; international finance; international school; management of change; marketing communications; services marketing; strategic accounting; strategic financial management; strategic marketing; strategic marketing simulation; technology and innovation management.
Assessment is by a combination of written examinations, assignments, group projects and presentations.

The amount would depend on the strength of the relationship, which might include companies who have previously funded a student on a Bradford programme, employed an undergraduate placement, MSc or MBA student to undertake a project, employed a member of faculty to produce a KTP or research project, commissioned a customised Executive Education programme, or supported the School in other ways, but this list is not exhaustive and other business engagement activities could be considered eligible.
