Peace Studies

Course covers: introduction to peace studies; understanding peace and violence; comparative peace processes; human rights and democracy; options include: conflict resolution, international politics and security studies, security and post-conflict reconstruction, European regional security, African regional security studies, Christianity and politics, Religions; peace and conflict: from Islam and the West to Muslims of the West; arms control and proliferation.

Entry requirements

1st Class Honours degree or equivalent, almost any degree subjects can be considered; candidates without the required academic qualifications may be considered on the basis of experience or achievement, for entry to the postgraduate diploma programmes and may subsequently transfer to the MA subject to academic performance. IELTS at 6.0 or the equivalent.

Assessment methods

Coursework essays and extended dissertation.
