Applied Dual-Use Biosecurity Education

This programme introduces participants to the concept of 'bioethics'. Students develop an awareness and understanding of a range of dual-use ethical dilemmas that arise due to the impact of science and technology on society.

Entry requirements

A 1st degree, usually Upper 2nd Class (2.1) Honours or equivalent; 6.0 IELTS or equivalent.

Course modules

The dual-use dilemma and the responsibility of scientists; national implementation of the biological and toxin weapons convention (btwc); biowar, bioterror and the international prohibition regime; the web of prevention.
