This course is designed to provide knowledge and understanding in mechanics, materials selection, manufacturing, mechatronics, control, plus computer-aided design and engineering techniques to design and develop integrated mechanical systems.
2.1 Honours degree (or above); candidates with industrial experience in mechanical engineering or related area are welcome. IELTS at 6.0 or the equivalent.
Modules include: interdisciplinary competitive design; PgDip project; design optimisation; mobile robotics and wireless sensors; mechanical vibration; control systems design; materials failure mechanics; computer application of numerical methods; finite element methods; transport process modelling; energy studies; advanced solid mechanics; modelling and simulation of manufacturing systems; environmental computational fluid dynamics; risk management; reliability engineering; vehicle dynamics; MSc project.
