Architecture (RIBA part 2)

This course builds on the essential skills gained from a Part 1 architecture degree and from a year working in architectural practice; the programme is geared to students who are committed to developing themselves as design architects within professional and/or academic practice; the course strives to identify key issues that generate important strategic positions and unique design processes at both a local and global scale; within this context the programme is structured as year cohorts and is supported by technology, professional studies and history and theory courses.

Entry requirements

Applications are competitive and considered on an individual basis through a process of portfolio review and interview. Practice experience is recommended and there is a minimum requirement of a lower second class undergraduate degree in architecture or a closely related subject such as interior architecture. RIBA Part 1 is not a prerequisite for entry on to the course.

Course modules

Modules include: Design studies (with integrated CAD and communication studies); design technology; architectural history and theory; professional studies.
