Language and Linguistics
Research is about finding answers to important and often difficult questions, and it plays a central part in the work of the School of Languages; our research is concentrated in three areas: Linguistics; culture and literature; and language teaching and language teacher education.
Upper 2nd Class Honours degree or equivalent qualification in relevant area; or appropriate research or professional experience at postgraduate level; candidates with relevant Master's degree or recognised equivalent or substantial appropriate research leading to published work may be registered directly for PhD.
Limited funding available via various university research promotion schemes.
