Podiatry and Education
The Podiatry and Education MSc is for practising podiatrists wanting to build on their skills and knowledge, advance their professional practice, and earn a further professional and academic qualification. The course helps you to develop your clinical and communication skills, and broaden your knowledge of podiatry and complementary education whilst earning a formal qualification. We are known for our flexible approaches to practice-based learning, with course durations and intensities that can be adapted to your individual needs and outside commitments. The course is designed to fit around your existing practice hours. Week-long intensive study blocks allow attendance for students based in the UK, EU and internationally.
Normally BSc (Hons) Podiatry, minimum 2.1, or equivalent; students should be registrable as podiatrists with the Health Professions Council; for non-native speakers of English: IELTS 6.5 overall, with 6 in writing and a minimum of 5.5 in the other elements.
Research methods for health professionals; principles of practice-based learning 1 and 2; practice-based learning in action; dissertation; plus 2 modules from: anatomy for podiatric practice; rheumatology and the lower limb; dermatology and the lower limb; diagnostic imaging; clinical pharmacology; the foot in diabetes; pathology and microbiology; off-loading the at-risk foot; foot and lower extremity musculoskeletal pathology and clinical biomechanics; surgical management of the foot.
