Professional Health and Social Care Practice
This course is for qualified health and social care professionals wanting to build on their skills and knowledge, advance their professional practice, and earn a further professional and academic qualification. On the course students develop their clinical and communication skills, and critically examine their practice. Students explore the evidence base for practice and develop their contribution to care through analysis and evaluation of the concepts and theories which underpin health and social care practice.
This course is for qualified health and social care professionals who demonstrate sufficient experience of practice to reflect on throughout the course. Applicants will normally hold an appropriate honours degree or equivalent qualification in a health and social care profession. Applicants will normally be registered with an appropriate professional body. For non-native speakers of English: IELTS 6.5 overall, with 6.0 in writing and a minimum of 5.5 in the other elements.
Core modules: evidence informed practice. Option modules: continuing professional development by critical reflection; practice development through independent learning; research methods module from the GPHSS; dissertation.
