Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences
This course is an integrated, industrially-focused, research training programme for students wishing to develop their research skills in the fields of pharmaceutical and/or biomedical sciences; graduates are equipped with a well-rounded, laboratory-based research training and the necessary transferable skills and are fully prepared for employment within the pharmaceutical and biomedical sciences industries, and also for further academic study; the objective of the course is to develop the skills and the knowledge of graduates enabling them to carry out research in a manner that maximises their personal and professional potential and that that helps them achieve the greatest benefits for the organisations employing them; throughout the course students have the opportunity, with guidance from us, to assess their suitability for a career in industry or further research training; the research project provides a real intellectual challenge and enables the student to demonstrate creativity and initiative; the course is structured to include a significant research component for at least 50 per cent of the working year; a series of supporting taught courses make up the rest of the working year.
Good Honours degree in chemical, biological, pharmaceutical or related discipline; for non-native speakers of English: IELTS 6.5 overall and 6 in writing.
