In a world where managing and leading change has become critical, the Change Management Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) will set students apart from colleagues with standard management qualifications. This course will build students' capacity to: understand the academic theory behind organisational change; confidently take on a change leadership role; integrate academic knowledge and practice skills to engage in authoritative change management and make sense of the opportunities presented by cultural change.
Normally an Honours degree or equivalent is required; a degree in any subject will be considered; work experience is useful but not essential; in order to benefit from, contribute to and enjoy the course, a good command of spoken and written English language is required; if English is not the student's 1st language they will need English language proficiency equivalent to an overall IELTS score of at least 6.5, with 6 in the written test and a minimum of 5.5 in the other elements.
This course is delivered in 3 teaching blocks; each block is taught over 3 consecutive days and is assessed by a work-based project; students may choose 3 from the following 4 modules: managing the human aspects of change; political and institutional perspectives on change management; the leadership of change; systems and complexity approaches to change management.
Each 3 day block is assessed by a work-based project; this project will ensure that students are using best practice in their work.
Students are often sponsored by their organisations.
