Logistics and Supply Chain Management
This course provides students with a detailed understanding of logistics, purchasing and supply-chain information systems; graduates are equipped with the knowledge and skills to address a wide range of logistical problems and to support decision making in organisations worldwide. Students will take part in consultancy workshops and use the knowledge they've acquired on the course to solve business problems, with the option of undertaking a consultancy project for a real client.
Individual offers may vary; normally a good Honours degree or equivalent is required; work experience is useful but not essential; applicants with non-standard entry qualifications will be considered; if students are unsure whether they meet the entry requirements they should contact the school; in order to benefit from, contribute to and enjoy the course, a good command of spoken and written English language is required; if English is not the student's 1st language they will need English language proficiency equivalent to an overall IELTS score of at least 6.5, with 6 in the written test.
Topics covered include operations management, logistics and supply chain consulting, forecasting and modelling, enterprise systems and e-procurement, and strategic purchasing; in addition, students will learn practical business skills such as budgeting, problem solving, managing groups and teams, and consultancy skills.
You will be assessed by a combination of individual work, group work and by examination.
