Knowledge and Innovation Management

Designed to broaden students horizons and build on their strengths, the programme aims to develop well rounded, effective managers. The programme enables students to use the latest knowledge management techniques to bring about innovation across the entire business. The course provides students with an in-depth understanding of the management of change and the processes for successfully implementing change and an understanding of the potential use of the power of innovation to transform organisations. There is an emphasis in the course on analysis, creativity and innovation as tools to identify problems, offer solutions and to explore and exploit opportunities. Students will gain a clear understanding of how effective knowledge management can enhance and support strategic decision-making as well as the capability to lead and combine innovation and knowledge management strategies. The course is flexible so students can choose to study via a combination of evening classes and weekly blocks, depending on their specific needs.

Entry requirements

Individual offers may vary. At least 3 years management or professional experience, plus a degree or equivalent professional qualification. Those with at least 5 years management or professional experience do not need a degree or equivalent qualification. In order to benefit from, contribute to and enjoy the course, a good command of spoken and written English language is required. If English is not the student's 1st language they will need English language proficiency equivalent to an overall IELTS score of at least 6.5, with 6 in the written test. The Brighton MBA does not require the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT), though if the student has taken the GMAT a good score can strengthen their application.

Course modules

You will study 7 modules and one project. You can choose the order in which you complete the modules.
Core modules: Accounting and performance management; developing international strategic capabilities; information systems, operations and process management; international strategy and marketing; knowledge management; management environments and economics; managing innovation; managing people and organisations. students also complete a project which develops their strategic knowledge, innovation and change management capabilities.
