University of Bristol
Education (Teaching and Learning)
This pathway provides you with the opportunity to build your own flexible programme. In common with other MSc Education students, you will take the compulsory research methods unit, Introduction to Educational Inquiry, and write a dissertation. You can choose the rest of your units from across the programmes offered by the school. Your final choice of units will follow consultation with tutors in order to ensure that your choice is as coherent and useful as possible, as well as suiting your individual needs. This programme is particularly suitable for those who already hold master's-level credits from a teaching qualification, such as a PGCE, and who want to build on this foundation for their professional development.
Our education master's degrees enable students to design a tailored programme of study suited to their cultural and learning needs. Students on this programme will be able to specialise and receive an award in a particular disciplinary area. Visit our programme catalogue for full details of the structure and unit content for our MSc Education (Teaching and Learning). (http://www.bris.ac.uk/unit-programme-catalogue/RouteStructure.jsa?byCoho...) Alternatively, you can design your own pathway by opting not to specialise. Core units can be taken from across the different specialisms and from our bank of optional units to build a tailored programme of study, resulting in an award of MSc Education.
