Biomedical Sciences Research
This programme provides training in several of the principal areas of current research in the biomedical sciences. The programme is focused on experimental science and provides practical experience of basic and specialist techniques. It also provides opportunities for specialisation in selected research topics.
An upper 2nd Class Honours degree (or international equivalent) and evidence of practical ability.
Core skills; literary project; project proposal and research project; lecture-based units; cancer biology; cardiovascular research; the dynamic cell; infection, immunology and immunity; pharmacology; neuroscience.
Each taught unit is assessed independently by written examinations and by coursework. The literary project, project proposal and practical projects are presented as written dissertations.
