Research groups: Most research is carried out within 2 main research areas: theoretical and applied microeconomics, especially labour economics, industrial organisation, health economics and microeconometrics; macroeconomics, growth and development, including monetary policy, economic growth, development economics and political economy.
An upper 2nd Class Honours degree (or international equivalent) in a related subject, and/or a Master's qualification in a related subject.
The Department has a quota allocation of 1+3 and 3+ Economics and Social Research Council scholarships fro students from the UK and the European Union; other students may be able to seek funding through the ORS scheme.
