University of Buckingham
This course is available to secondary school teachers in both maintained and independent sectors in English, mathematics, science and history; it consists of school-based training combined with termly 3-day residential meetings at Buckingham; successful completion of this course leads to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), subject to satisfactory performance in skills tests; applications should be made directly to the university.
Applicants must be currently teaching in a secondary school, have a degree (or equivalent qualification), GCSE grade C or above in English and Mathematics, and a good level of spoken and written English.
The focus of the course is upon classroom practice, although trainees will also have to complete 3 written assignments.
