Major research is carried out in behavioural and cognitive sciences; areas of research include: sensory and perceptual processes in vision and hearing; memory, attention and language; animal learning; cognitive neuropsychology; developmental psychology; clinical psychology; the department does not normally supervise research in social psychology, in personality, or in social aspects of clinical psychology; students interested in those particular areas are advised to apply to the social and political sciences faculty.

Entry requirements

Upper 2nd Class Honours degree in psychology or, for certain areas of research, physiology, neurobiology, linguistics, computer science, engineering. IELTS score of 7.5.
