Medicine (Wellcome Clinical)

The structure of the programme is dependant on the fellow's background; academic clinical fellows based in Cambridge undertake workshops, lectures and mini-projects, similar to graduate students on Wellcome Trust/medical research council (MRC) funded 4 year PhD programmes; individuals who do not hold academic clinical fellowships in Cambridge are offered a 3 month out-of-programme experience (OOPE), which will be funded by the school of clinical medicine and the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute; during this time students attend appropriate lectures, workshops, meet a range of supervisors and also undertake a mini-project in an area of interest; those on the 4 year programme in epidemiology, public health and primary care undertake an MPhil before embarking on the PhD.

Entry requirements

Upper 2nd Class Honours degree or overseas equivalent; applicants whose 1st language is not English must demonstrate competence in English (IELTS 7.0 with at least 6.0 in each element; or other acceptable test).
