Research topics include: analysis of noise and vibration in aerospace, marine, and automotive structures; transmission of vibration in the ground and buildings; vehicle dynamics and active roll control; vehicle-road interaction and road damage mechanisms; impact mechanics and dynamics of ballistic separation; musical acoustics; signal processing using wavelet analysis.
Upper 2nd Class degree or overseas equivalent; applicants whose 1st language is not English must have IELTS 7.0 with at least 6.0 in each element; TOEFL 600 with TWE 5.0; or other acceptable test.
Limited number of EPSRC funded PhD studentships available to UK and EU students.
