Modern South Asian Studies
The course covers South Asia from the early modern period to the present; areas studied cover the modern states of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal.
Minimum qualifications are: good 2.1 Honours degree and a good command of English language; the centre regards an Upper 2.1 or 1st (or equivalent) as essential; candidates for admission to the course are expected to be of PhD potential.
Assessment is based on 2 coursework essays; language examination; dissertation.
