Public Policy

The course is aimed at students who wish to have a leading role in government, companies or non-governmental organisations. The blend of theory and practice will help students to understand the mix of hard and soft skills they will need to be effective policy entrepreneurs and students will leave the course having broadended and strengthened their policy analysis and implementation skills. At the end of the course students will be expected to have. An appreciation of the political and legal context of policy-making; an understanding of the economic and evidence aspects of policy making; a solid grounding in the theory, practical tools and skills required for the implementation of policy.

Entry requirements

Applicants for this course should have achieved a UK high 2.1 Honours degree or international equivalent. Applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 7.5 (with a minimum 7.0 in each component) or equivalent.

Assessment methods

Assessment methods include essays, written examinations and a work placement report.
