Entry requirements

Masters or other research degree in Latin American studies, literature, anthropology, modern languages, area studies, history or the social sciences is essential. Applications from external institutions are expected to achieve the equivalent of a distinction across their course of study. Students already at Cambridge applying to continue from the MPhil to the PhD should have an overall mark of 73 percent with at least 75 percent in the thesis or coursework.
