The course has 5 themes: citizenship, democracy and education; nationhood and mass schooling; the impact of economic and cultural globalisation; the democratising of education; democratic schooling; there are also 2 short courses: reading educational research; conducting a small-scale research study.
Upper 2nd Class Honours degree in a relevant subject; American Bachelor degree, GPA 3.5-4.00; those whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 7.5; interview.
