Education and Religion in Society

This programme support students' personal and professional development as a reflective practitioners so that they can better appreciate both the latest developments in pedagogy and educational theory and improve the breadth and/or depth of their subject knowledge in religion.

Entry requirements

You will be expected to be working in an educational setting and will hold a 1st degree at 2.2 level or above in a related subject; if your 1st language is not English you should have IELTS at minimum Level 7 or equivalent; a UCLan based language assessment is available on request; we will also consider applications from individuals with alternative significant prior experience and/or professional training in education, and each applicant will be considered on a case by case basis.

Course modules

Modules include: Religion and society; designing and planning; your research project; the critical professional; reason, faith and logos; god, sex and contemporary Britain; introduction to conceptually-based research; developing innovation in teaching, learning and assessment; curriculum design; dissertation.

Assessment methods

Assessment is based on essays, presentations, critical reviews, research papers, learning journal, evaluation of practice.
