International Festivals and Event Management

The growing size and dominance of festivals and events around the world means that companies and organisations are continually seeking individuals with the knowledge and capabilities of managing various aspects of this fast growing and dynamic industry; the course intends to meet such challenges and provide a curriculum which enhances the knowledge and skills of its students and ensure that they are able to cope with the variety of possible roles and responsibilities that follow.

Entry requirements

A 2.2 Honours degree from a British university in a subject related to event management or business; however, the degree must be seen to demonstrate some relevance to the Master's programme.

Course modules

Modules include: Principles and practice of tourism, hospitality and events; management development; managing hospitality and event operations; research methodology: philosophy and practice; event planning and management; festivals, society and culture; dissertation.

Assessment methods

Assessment methods include: Reports; essays; presentations; seminar papers; dissertation.
