International Applied Communication

The course develops skills and knowledge in advanced applied communication on a global level, an innovative personal, professional and academic development course, it has been designed to cater for the growing demand for independent-thinking communication managers who can assist organisations to respond in a fast changing, international environment; it prepares students for a career in international organisations including the UN, non governmental organisations (NGOs) (such as the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent), the Foreign Office and British Council, public relations consultancies and in-house communication departments, as well as in pursuing academic careers.

Entry requirements

A recognised university undergraduate Honours degree, with at least an upper 2nd Class classification; or a professional qualification deemed to be equivalent; 2 references; motivational essay (approximately 500 words), stating why they want to study for this course.

Assessment methods

Assessment methods include case study and essay-based examinations, essays and group assignments (coursework and presentations); group work is an important element of the problem solving approach to case studies.
