International Hospitality and Tourism Management
The programme has been designed to provide a high quality management education for existing managers and those with an appropriate undergraduate education who wish to aspire to a career in the dynamic area of international hospitality and tourism management; the emphasis throughout this programme is on the development of professional and managerial skills; enhancement activities throughout the programme include academic skills development, external speakers, industry visits and may also include a residential learning event.
A recognised university undergraduate Honours degree, with at least a lower 2nd Class classification; or a professional qualification deemed to be equivalent.
Modules include: Principles and practice of tourism, hospitality and events; management development; tourism management; global hospitality: themes and brands; research methods: philosophy and practice; global tourism: policy and practice, or tourism and sustainability; dissertation.
Assessment methods include: Reports; essays; presentations; seminar papers; dissertation.
