International Festivals and Tourism Management

The programme has been designed to provide a high quality vocational, personal and intellectually challenging education for those wishing to enhance their knowledge, skills and appeal to an international market; emphasis throughout the programme is therefore placed on developing a range of professional, managerial and transferable skills which are aligned with an extensive knowledge of management disciplines applicable to festival and tourism management today.

Entry requirements

A recognised university undergraduate Honours degree, with at least a lower 2nd Class classification; or a professional qualification deemed to be equivalent.

Course modules

Modules include: Principles and practice of tourism, hospitality and events; management development; tourism management; festivals, society and culture; research methodology: philosophy and practice; global tourism: policy and practice, or tourism and sustainability; dissertation.

Assessment methods

Assessment methods include: Reports; essays; presentations; seminar papers; dissertation.
