Human Resource Management and Development

University is recognised as an accredited centre by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and is empowered to award its own internally assessed courses; upon completion students receive the PgDip and will have completed the skills and knowledge elements on the route to CIPD membership; CIPD requires a behavioural assessment and proven required experience to upgrade to Chartered Membership status; possible progression to MA.

Entry requirements

Honours degree, or a CIPD at Intermediate level; or a Graduate Diploma in a relevant topic; or an S/NVQ level 4 in a relevant topic; and relevant professional experience.

Course modules

Modules may include: Human resource management in context; managing, leading and developing people; investigating a business issue; developing skills for business leaders. In year 2 students need to undertake four option modules and these will determine whether you are awarded an HRM or HRD qualification.
