This course is specifically designed for those wishing either to establish or sustain a successful managerial or professional career, and who have already worked for at least 2 years in a managerial, technical or professional role. Students are taught by highly experienced and qualified tutors and will complete an MBA dissertation. The course provides a rigorous process of personal and managerial development, in which students are encouraged and expected to make their own unique contribution.

Entry requirements

A recognised university undergraduate Honours degree, with at least a lower 2nd Class classification, or a professional qualification deemed to be equivalent, and a minimum of 2 years' work experience is desirable, but not essential. For international students, in addition to meeting the above minimum entry requirements the university requires a score of at least 6.5 in the British Council IELTS test; a score of 600-650 in the TOEFL paper-based test supported by a pass in the associated test of written English may also be acceptable; alternatively a score of at least 250 on the TOEFL computer-based test is acceptable.

Course modules

Semester 1: Accounting and finance; the reflective manager; critical perspectives on management; contemporary marketing; contemporary human resource management; the economic context of international business. Semester 2: Operations strategy; strategy and international management; new enterprise venture development; business information management; designing a research project. Semester 3: Dissertation.

Assessment methods

Within each module the assessment methods are designed to contribute to continuing development, giving feedback on a regular basis, identifying opportunities for improvement, and providing periodic evaluations of progress.
