Leadership in Policing

This programme has been specifically designed for current and aspiring leaders within the policing field and will allow you to enhance your leadership knowledge, skills and abilities. It includes a blend of academic theory and the exploration of leadership challenges in policing. If you already possess the highest levels of Chartered Management Institute (CMI) membership, you may be able to progress directly to the final stage of the programme, including research methods and a dissertation.

Entry requirements

Admission is based on a holistic review of each candidate's work experience and educational qualifications in order to assess their ability to benefit from the programme.

Course modules

Modules include: Leadership: personal development in an organisational context; strategic leadership perspectives in an organisational context; the ethics of criminal investigation and policing; research methods; dissertation.

Assessment methods

Assessment for the programme will include personal development plans; organisational based reports; presentations; academic essays; an examination and a dissertation.
