Counselling and Psychotherapy
This course provides a modular continuing personal and professional development programme for qualified counsellors and psychotherapists; students choose from a range of module options to tailor a programme that meets their personal and professional needs.
Applicants must be qualified counsellors or psychotherapists who are in current practice and who are seeking a programme of Continuing Professional Development. The application process will initially be by interview onto the PGDip. There will be a further progress interview for those wanting to pursue the MSc.
Core modules: Dilemmas in professional counselling practice; working with disorders of the self; and an introduction to postgraduate research; after an interview, students may progress to the Master's by undertaking a dissertation module.
Assessment methods include: Case study from practice, learning statements, essays, presentations, research proposal, critique of a research paper, dissertation.
