Construction Project Management

This course has been designed to provide a programme of studies for those who wish to develop project management skills and abilities in the context of construction and engineering; it provides a focus upon project quality and control methods in the project management process, extends knowledge of technologies and resolution of new build problems and develops leadership and team skills as well as the student's research methods and applications; the course also provides the opportunity for students to complete a range of optional modules which will facilitate the development of their knowledge and problem-solving skills suited to their working environment and general interest in the project management process.

Entry requirements

Upper 2nd Class Honours degree in construction project management, construction management, construction, building management, building or related subject; relevant professional examination or award.

Course modules

Modules include: Dissertation; research methods; health and safety management; project management; advanced construction technology; environmental law; project team and leadership development; risk assessment and management; European competition and procurement law; project management; project analysis and appraisal.

Assessment methods

Most modules are assessed by coursework alone, but there are some examinations; most coursework is individual but there is some group work; there are also assessed presentations on the course.
