Energy and Environmental Management
This course provides a critical approach to theories, techniques and methods in energy and environmental management and provides students with a learning environment in which they develop their capacity for independent study, their ability to collaborate with others in team settings, and their capacity for critical thought and reflection; the broad areas covered include: a comprehensive introduction to energy and environmental management.
Minimum of a lower 2nd Class Honours degree in an appropriate or relevant subject or qualification or experience deemed to be equivalent.
Core modules: Carbon management regulation and policy; practical application of renewable energy technologies; environmental management within organisations; energy production and distribution; dissertation; global waste management overseas field trip (2012 China); optional modules: applied ecology; environmental pollution control; carbon management; global waste management.
A combination of both coursework and on-line exercises; the coursework types includes the following: technical reports, case studies essays, presentations, group work, on-line forum activity and academic posters.
