Film Production

This programme centres on professional film production and conventions; with a strong 'hands on' approach to practice and theory, students collaborate on their productions of narrative drama or documentary in emulated 'real world environments' using production methods and equipment, experienced industry professionals; academics; and external, high profile, guest speakers deliver the course, there is no dissertation.

Entry requirements

A good Honours degree (2.1 or higher) in related area; or relevant professional experience plus portfolio of work at interview.

Course modules

Modules include: Research methods; enterprise and professional practice; production processes and techniques; contemporary production frameworks; film production minor project; research project film production major project; or research and production major project.

Assessment methods

Assessment is by submission of films; produced and written; and oral presentations of research outcomes; students have to meet a set of learning outcomes appropriate to masters level study to pass their modules.

Graduates of the University of Central Lancashire have a 20 per cent discount on tuition fee if self-funded.
