The course emphasis is on database design from logical and physical design through to the interface; it provides opportunity to develop skills to manage development and implementation of a maintainable database system, taking into account user requirements; also opportunity to work on a substantial database project of own choice; in addition it helps students to become Oracle-accredited although it is not a training course in Oracle.
The course is available to both computing and non-computing graduates, however if applicants have a recent degree in information systems engineering or database systems, or a closely-related subject, applicants are not normally be admitted.
