Contemporary Practice with Children and Young People

The course is jointly provided by the Schools of Social Work and Education and Social Science. This course is aimed at people working within the fields of caring for and educating children and young people and at ensuring best practice informed by international contexts, local expertise and research. Teaching on the programme takes place in the evening and is offered both full and part-time and for which full attendance is required.

Entry requirements

Minimum award of 2.2. at 1st degree level.

Course modules

Modules include: Theorising childhood and adolescence; childhood in law and welfare; safeguarding children; designing and planning a research project; global perspectives on children's participation; social pedagogy: theory and practice; social policy and practice (work-based learning).
